150 athletes from eight regions of the country have been training within the training sessions in Astana during three weeks to be in good shape for the first start of the season.
Following the results of the Championship, teams will be formed, which will represent Kazakhstan at the international competitions and in junior tournaments.
Today, after the opening parade, races have been started. Tomorrow, the strongest athletes will step on the ice, including the leaders of the national team: 2013 World Champion, Denis Kuzin, and the bronze prize-holder of the World Cup, Yekaterina Aydova.
The peculiarity of this championship is the inclusion of new disciplines in the official program. Team sprint will be held for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan's speed skating. This is a spectacular and dynamic type of program developed by the International Federation of Speed Skating to attract the attention of the audience.
Debut performance of the newly established youth national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Russian expert, Sergey Klevchenya, at the national championships also deserves attention.
"Alau" invites citizens to support the athletes in the final day of the competitions, which will be held on Saturday, October 24, at 11:00 am. Immediately after the competition, mass public skating will be started on the championships ice of the palace.
