The National Skating Federation was established on August 6, 2011.
A year later, on August 23, 2012, the Federation received official recognition from the National Olympic Committee. Recognition of the NOC gives the right to the National Skating Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to officially represent the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan in speed skating sports within the country and in the international arena.
